Middle East Petrochemical Industry - Gradually Shifting From Natural Gas to Naphtha Feedstock
Summary
The availability of advantaged natural gas feedstock has given a boost to the petrochemicals industry in the Middle East. This factor alone has helped Middle Eastern producers gain a competitive advantage over their western counterparts. Recently, a new trend has emerged in the Middle East, with a shift from abundant low cost natural gas feedstock to the naphtha feedstock, which provides more value additions. This trend has come about as the result of a variety of factors, including the rapid depletion of natural gas reserves, increasing emphasis on alternative uses of natural gas and increasing demand for downstream products that can be obtained via naphtha but not by natural gas. As a result, more companies are opting for the naphtha route in petrochemical production.
Scope
- Analyses the advantages of using naphtha as key feedstock in the region
- Details upcoming olefins and aromatics plants in Middle East
Reasons to buy
- Understand the key feedstock trend in various regions
- Formulate strategies based on the current trends in the industry
