The mobile phone market consists of all analog and digital handsets used for mobile telephony. Market volumes for a given year are defined as the number of shipments to end-users, including both new uptake and renewal purchases. Market values are given at retail selling price (RSP). Any currency conversions used in the creation of this report have been calculated using constant 2008 annual average exchange rates. For the purpose of this report Europe is deemed to comprise of Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
